Was born in Brasil in the year of 1979 and lived until the age of 17 in Guararema, a small town in the state of Sao Paulo.

Started to study art when he was very young and later got a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at the “Faculdade de Belas Artes de São Paulo” (Fine Arts University of São Paulo).

Has been working with illustration and comic books since 1999, and has collaborated with the largest Brazilian publishing houses. Between 2002 and 2009 he taught drawing and painting at Quanta Academia de Artes, where he also worked as pedagogic coordinator in the last three years of this period.

Davi Calil now works as a freelancer illustrator and writes and draw comic books monthly for the Brazilian MAD magazine.
Nowadays he lives in Paris were he studies French and develops his personal projects.
